Our Inspiration
We wanted to share a bit of the inspiration behind our company, which is rooted in the hard work and vision of Austin Van de Vyver. Austin’s journey began in the plumbing industry at a young age, where he worked his way up from the ground level. Before venturing into plumbing, he had a background in welding and fabrication, skills that greatly contributed to his success in the trade.
Austin’s dedication to learning and his commitment to putting in long hours allowed him to become one of the most sought-after plumbers in the Metro Detroit area. He worked with the region's top plumbing companies and partnered with several home warranty providers, gaining a deep understanding of the challenges homeowners face.
Through this experience, Austin noticed a gap in the way out-of-state home warranty companies structured their policies. These companies often don’t account for Michigan's unique systems, such as gravity drainage and stormwater management, leaving homeowners without the coverage they truly need. Many of these companies simply don’t understand how storm systems in Michigan homes function, and as a result, they fail to offer the right protection.
Recognizing this problem, Austin devised a plan to create a home warranty company that would better serve Michigan homeowners. His goal was to offer tailored coverage that addressed the specific needs of the region while providing reliable, top-notch service.

At G.L.H.A you get:
One-on-One Support: A dedicated representative will personally handle your claim and send confirmation within 24 hours. We’ll dispatch a qualified, contractor to inspect the issue and keep you updated every step of the way, ensuring you’re never left in the dark.
Professional Contractors: We understand that getting your home back to normal is a priority. For select programs with a $50 service fee, you'll make the payment when the claim is opened, and we’ll send a professional licensed contractor within 24 hours. The contractor will assess the situation, determine the next steps, and secure any necessary permits. For your safety, our contractors always wear an G.L.H.A ID badge and will notify you in case of delays.
Repair Warranties: G.L.H.A offers a one-year warranty on all covered repairs, ensuring they meet state and local codes and specifications.
Basic Restoration: We’ll restore your curb appeal by covering basic site restoration costs, including backfilling, raking, and reseeding the repair area. If the repair occurs in winter, we'll return in spring to reseed.
Follow-Up: We’ll follow up within 72 hours of your claim to ensure everything is running smoothly. A few weeks after your repair, we’ll send a survey to gather your feedback. We value your input, as it helps us improve our service and ensures your satisfaction.
